Diana Alcomendas, Virtuosity’s Dance Director began training at the age of two. Trained in Classical Russian Ballet, Jazz, Lyrical, Tap, Hip-Hop, along with a background in Gymnastics, she began working with VEGA’s gymnasts in 2004, which led to the inception of Virtuosity Performing Arts Studio. Diana’s passion for dance includes inspiring her students to a discipline for proper technique and experiencing the joy of dance.
Currently, Diana is directs the American Ballet Theatre® program and the Competitive Dance Program at Virtuosity. Over the past eleven years at Virtuosity, her dancers and teams have won multiple awards and recognitions at industry events. Diana has won several awards for her choreography.
Diana has also choreographed/coached for award-winning College, High School and Middle School dance teams, has been featured as a guest performer for professional dance companies throughout the Portland area, and has danced for televised networks overseas. In addition to her training in classical dance forms, Diana enjoys training in aerial art forms, especially lyra and circus trapeze, and will soon be pursuing her certification for Anti-gravity Yoga. In her spare time, she can likely be found behind her sewing machine making tutus.
Diana Alcomendas is an American Ballet Theatre® Certified Teacher who has successfully completed the ABT® Teacher Training Intensive in Primary through Level 5 of the ABT® National Training Curriculum.
