Dance Instructor

Kristine Anderson holds a B.A in Dance from San Francisco University, Magna Cum Laude, and an M.F.A. in Dance Performance and Choreography with High Honors from Mills College, where she was awarded the E.L. Wiegand Foundation Award. She has also trained at the California Institute for Dance, and San Francisco Conservatory of Dance and is a Certified Pilates Instructor.

Over the years, Kristine has been a member of dance companies up and down the west coast, including Tere Mathern Dance, Rachel Slater Dance, ODC Dance Company, Mills Dance Repertory Company, Agnieska Laska Dancers and SFSU University Dance Theatre, as well as having been a visiting performer with Impetus Arts and Pure Dance Company.
Kristine began teaching in 2001, and has taught a variety of dance genres in both private studios and higher education. In addition to teaching at many of the above mentioned companies, she has had the privilege of teaching at Vilcabamba Dance Collective in Ecuador and Conduit in Portland. She served as the Interim President of the Dance Coalition of Oregon from 2011-2012, and has published Pedagogial Frontiers in Dance Technique: A Fresh Look at Old Ideas.

Having studied under a multitude of renowned instructors throughout the world, Kristine is highly qualified to instruct jazz, contemporary, lyrical, ballet, modern, improvisation and creative movement. When she is not teaching, she is a proud Mother to her young son, Sawyer. We are thrilled to have Kristine on staff at Virtuosity!
