Before entering the American Ballet Theatre® National Training Curriculum, each student must be evaluated for proper placement. This is not an audition, but merely ensures each student is placed in the class that will most properly ensure that student’s success. Initial evaluations are $10 per student, and are held in August/September, February and June of each year. Dancers interested in joining the ABT® program at other times throughout the year may be able to arrange a private evaluation with Dance Director, Diana Alcomendas.
Dancers leave their evaluations knowing in which class they’ve been placed and what their uniform requirements are. At the discretion of our ABT® certified instructors, students may be moved to another class at any time throughout the dance year, depending on student ability and age.
Students currently enrolled in the ABT National Training Curriculum will be evaluated during their regularly scheduled classes, and do not need to attend Fall evaluations. If, for any reason, a student steps out of the ABT® curriculum, he/she must participate in another Initial Evaluation to re-enter the program. Placement packets & Summer 2017 ABT program info can be picked up in the main office on Tuesday, June 20th, 2017 during regular office hours (Main Location)
ABT is a year round program, and all students enrolled are automatically enrolled in fall classes. If you choose to step out of ABT, you must let the office know in writing (email is fine) by the 15th of the month, as billing runs on the 20th of each month.
